Mindful Trader Commentary For September 7, 2022

Hey Guys,

The market is around the same spot as it was yesterday. The S&P 500 is a bit above the 3,900 mark.

I picked up some new positions today. In the main account, I bought shares of COP and EOG. In the extra options account, I bought options for COP. In the low-priced account, I bought stock positions for APA and ADM. A lot of energy tickers in there.

That ADM purchase was for the same stock I bought yesterday in my main account. It qualified for the double down trade strategy, so I bought it.

I closed a few positions that reached their time limits this morning. One was for a smidgeon of profit, and the other two were for partial losses. One of those two was LNG, and that had a rough turn. Yesterday it got close to its profit target in the morning and then it went into a huge downward spiral. You can never tell for sure what's coming next for any given stock, and sometimes they make abrupt turns. Those turns go both ways. That's why until a trade is over, it might not be worth it to get emotionally invested in its unrealized profit or loss.

Another one of those trades that closed this morning was for PFG, and that one earned a dividend last night for anyone who held it overnight. Most brokerages will automatically credit the dividend to your account in the coming weeks.

If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
