Hey Guys,
The market started the morning up, but gave up most of those gains within the first 15 minutes. The S&P 500 has been bouncing back and forth the last several days.
I had three different stock positions get closed this morning. Two reached their time limits (JNJ and AZN) while one hit its stop loss (DUK). All three ended up in the red. It's not a fun way to start the week, but sometimes that's how it goes with trading.
Some people might have a knee jerk reaction after having three losing trades like that. In fact, when I first started trading, that's how I operated. I was looking for a holy grail and figured my trading strategy wasn't good enough if I was having losing trades. I found out from research, though, that even the strategies with the strongest edge historically still had tons of losing trades. So it's normal to have losing trades. But that doesn't mean it's easy to live through, especially since there is real risk involved.
I took on some new trades today. In the stocks account, I bought positions for BSX and IQV. In the options account, I bought the options for BSX.
