Mindful Trader Commentary For March 1, 2022

Hey Guys,

We're still in the midst of volatility. The market started the morning relatively close to where it started yesterday, but there was a 75-point range overnight.

In the main account, I picked up another futures position and posted its stock equivalent. That trade was for the strategy MT 1, which is a fun one because it's intended to ride the market all the way back up to its previous highs (if it goes there). This same trade strategy triggered a month ago, but it ended up hitting the stoploss. Let's see if this time we get a different result.

I bought the nearest expiration futures contract by the way, which is the March expiration (H22). If the trade lasts long enough, we might have to roll the position over to the next expiration. If that happens, I'll send an announcement with instructions.

In the extra options account I sold a naked put for SPY (which correlates with that futures strategy that triggered). And in the low-priced account, I bought a stock position for SBLK.

Yesterday my option position for PM hit the stoploss. That one was a wild ride. It came really close to the stoploss a couple days ago and then bounced all the way back to profit territory the next day, only to hit the stoploss the day after that.

I am on the books for a dividend for my FOX stock position. Anyone who owned that stock at the close of trading yesterday will automatically receive the dividend (no action needed). Most brokerages will credit it to your account within the next several weeks.

If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
