Mindful Trader Commentary For December 9, 2022

Hey Guys,

First the fix: I posted a stock trade for TJX this morning in the main account, and I indicated the wrong profit target and stoploss initially. It's fixed now.

The market is in about the same place as it was yesterday. The S&P 500 is around 3,950 right now.

I picked up new positions in each of my accounts. In the main account, I bought TJX and LULU. In the extra options account, I bought the options for TJX. In the low-priced account, I bought stock positions for SEE and CNP.

That LULU trade is an earnings day trade so the price might be volatile. They announced earnings last night.  It's already down a lot this morning, but on earnings day, anything can happen. So I'm going to give it the room to breathe and see how it unfolds.

My VFC stock position hit its stoploss this morning. There was a slight offset to that since I earned a dividend on that stock this morning ($0.51 per share), so that softened the blow of the loss a bit. Anyone who owned VFC stock at the close of trading yesterday and into this morning's opening bell automatically earned the dividend and will likely have their account credited for it within the next several weeks.

I closed a number of options positions yesterday that reached their time limits. Things went my way to some extent because some of the positions that had been down all week got an uptick at the last minute (like UPS). I still came out with a net loss for the week, but it was less of a loss than I was facing for most of the week.

If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
