Mindful Trader Commentary For December 22, 2021

Hey Guys,

The market had a solid day yesterday and has maintained that progress so far this morning. The unrealized portfolio balance for my main account is looking better right now than it has in the last month.

Since Friday is a stock market holiday, it means that the expirations for my options positions this week fall a day earlier than usual. That means that I will be closing my options positions today. So unless any of them hit their profit targets first, I will be closing my options positions on DHI and AAPL near the end of normal US stock market hours today. The last couple of weeks the market has taken a dive right before I closed my options positions. Let's see if we get a different outcome this time.

I closed my position on RMBS in the low-priced account. It reached its time limit today, so I set up a market sell order for it before the market opened this morning. That one locked in a profit.

I haven't made any new trades yet today. Sometimes after the market has booming up days, the cupboard for my pullback trades is pretty barren. That said, the watch list still has a decent selection and the utilities industry in particular has not been rising with the market tide. We might see some action from some of those tickers soon.

If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
