Mindful Trader Commentary For December 14, 2022

Hey Guys,

After the market's incredible start to the morning yesterday, it then completely deflated and gave back almost all those gains. It made me feel thankful I had profit targets in there to lock in a bunch of profits before that happened.

But this morning it's moving up a bit again. The S&P 500 is near 4,070 right now. The Fed has a meeting today and the outcome of that meeting could create price spikes, for better or worse.

I've only picked up one new position today so far: FL in the low-priced account. I bought the same ticker yesterday, but today it qualified for my double down trading strategy so I bought another helping of it. Even though there are two line items for the same ticker on that web page, I'm treating them like two completely separate trades, each with a separate set of exits.

My AMD stock position reached its time limit this morning so I manually closed that position for a partial loss. My ICE options yesterday got manually closed for a partial profit near the end of the trading session.

And today, my TSM options reached their time limit, so I'll be manually closing those near the end of the trading session today unless they reach their profit target or stoploss before then.

Last thing -- I own two stocks that qualified for dividends overnight: ICE and MSI. Anyone who owned those stocks as of the close of trading yesterday and into the open this morning will automatically receive the dividend. Most brokerages will credit it to your account electronically. The dividends will be deposited within the next several weeks.

If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
