Mindful Trader Commentary For December 13, 2021

Hey Guys,

Well we actually had a trade today! It was in the low-priced account for the ticker SBLK. We had gone a few days where no trades from the back-tested trading strategy had triggered, so it was nice to get some action today. For any of you who have been here a while you know that normally there are plenty of trading opportunities most days, but right now there just aren't many trades setting up that meet the criteria of our back-tested strategy. So we're being given an opportunity to practice patience until trades start piling up again.

I've got my eye on the watch list, like I do every day. This morning there was some downward price movement on HD, GLD, and MU from the watch list, so maybe one of those will trigger a trade soon. I have buy limit orders set up for each ticker on the watch list today using the "Potential Entry Price" listed on that page.

My INTU stock position reached its time limit this morning, so I closed that position. It locked in a half-sized profit. For stock trades in my main account, I have 11 wins and 3 losses over the last three weeks. That's a nice little stretch.

In the low-priced account, I also had two trades reach their time limits: GO and MTTR. One was a winner and one was a loser, and the net profit from both was a little under breakeven. When it comes to stock trades, if the trade reaches its time limit, I typically set up a market sell order before the market opens. That allows the position to get automatically closed at the opening bell. The second video on this page shows exactly how I do it.

If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
