The market rebounded upward yesterday, only to then go right back down overnight last night. The market has been showing signs of volatility over the last two weeks.
I had a bunch of options positions get closed yesterday. The TTD options hit their profit target along the way, but by the time the dust had settled at the end of the day, I ended up with a net loss for the week in both the options account and main account. The main options that hurt me were AFL and BURL, both of which dropped off a cliff in terms of price. Those two options accounted for almost the entire net loss in both respective accounts this week, whereas the rest of my option positions were a mixed bag of results that largely offset each other.
I actually haven't closed the AFL and BURL positions yet because no one will buy them from me. That's how I know they're worthless. I tried manually closing them at the end of the day yesterday, but they didn't fill, which indicates that they're worthless. I still have a market sell order open for them right now. If they end up getting even a penny of value at any point, then my sell orders get filled. But if they don't get filled by the end of the day, the options will expire worthless, and both the options and their market sell orders will disappear from my accounts with no further action needed.
I took on some new positions today. In the main account, I bought stock positions for KHC and ADM. In the options account, I bought the options for ADM and KHC. In the double down account, I bought stock position for RJF and HTHT.
