Mindful Trader Commentary For April 12, 2023 2

Based on feedback I've gotten from customers, I decided to make a change with regard to futures trading here at Mindful Trader.

Up until now, in my main account I've done primarily stock trades in conjunction with occasional futures trades. The feedback I've gotten from many customers is that the futures trades seem complicated, both because futures themselves require specialized knowledge to trade and also because my trading strategies for futures are not the same ones I use for stocks and options.

I decided I will no longer be posting futures trades as part of this service. I will replace the futures trades in the main account with occasional double down options trades instead. I recently finished a complete back test of this approach, and its overall performance is comparable to what it was with futures. The stock trades will stay the same as normal.

My hope is that this simplifies things for customers. Now all trades will be based on the same two strategies, both for stocks and options. And there is one less asset class to try to take on.

I also just recorded a new video today that talks briefly about how options are similar to stocks in many ways based on the way I trade them. If you're new to options and wanting to learn more, you can check out that video on this page. You might find that options aren't as daunting as they seem since the trades I do are simple and structured just like stock trades (with a profit target and stop loss).

I hope this change makes it easier for customers to get financial benefit from using this service.

If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
